Behind the scenes with non-profit rock stars

Last month, a few of my non-profit rock star pals and I had the distinct honor of being featured in Giving City magazine for our We Are One Central Texas campaign. The coverage consisted of a “behind the scenes” feature about the video shoot and highlighted the campaign and can be found on page 36 of Issue 3.

The We Are One Central Texas initiative demonstrated how 12 local non-profits collaborate and support one another, and centered on a video we produced and used traditional PR, and social media, including Facebook, Twitter to drive awareness.

I was very happy and excited to be a part of this initiative. I hope it demonstrates that non-profits do work together all the time, and encourages others to collaborate to become more effective.

  1. John, this is great! Congratulations to all. One of my pet peeves (as a non-profit professional) is the competitive nature of the orgs. I’ve always thought there is something very wrong with that. This shows a different view that I hope more will adopt – the interconnectedness.

FYI, I posted it on my Facebook page.

  2. Pamela, many thanks for your encouragement and support. ACS is well supported and a big shout out to our friends David Neff and Art Wolff at High Plains. btw, this was all shot in the basement of Ridgepoint!

  3. Thank you for article. It’s really good read.
